Annie Oakley is a sweet, petite, FeLV+, DSH, spayed, brown tabby female (Est.

BJ is a 4 year
old, neutered, black and white male who came to us earlier this
year from Martinez Animal Shelter with a broken jaw. "Broken
Jaw" kitty, soon became simply BJ. Very mellow and laid back,
this boy would be a great cat for someone looking for a buddy
of a cat to hang out with. BJ loves chin scratches and sleeping
in sun rays. He has become a bit withdrawn and stressed in the
shelter and would really benefit from being adopted or getting
out of the shelter into foster care. Won't you give this boy
a loving forever home? To learn more about BJ click

Brioche is
a lovely 10 year old, de-clawed calico kitty who came to us
early in 2006 from Martinez Animal Shelter. Brioche would love
to be the companion for a Senior who will dote on her and let
her laze about in sunny window sills and on the couch curled
up close. Children, dogs and other kitties easily overwhelm
this girl so the life of leisure as an only kitty would be ideal
for her. Brioche will do fine with one or two other kitties
if she gets enough love from her people. Brioche should not
go to a home with children under the age of 5 years of age.
Brioche nearly starved to death, due to illness when she arrived,
and appears to be making up for it now. She's overweight and
really needs to go to a home where someone will manage her weight
and control her diet. To hear more about Brioche click
here to send an email to our volunteers. |

Cheeto is
a very laid back 1.5 year old, neutered, orange tabby and white,
DSH boy. Cheeto does very well with other cats, he's especially
bonded to his buddy Zander. The two of them became fast friends
and with Zander's help Cheeto has really come out of his shell.
Cheeto was found as a stray and brought to us with Daisy, who
he's very fond of. Both would make excellent companions to another
cat. To learn more about Cheeto click

Dreamer is
a handsome, affectionate, neutered, Siamese / DSH mix, 3 year
old (est. DOB 4/2006), neutered male, who came to us on from
a feral trapper who discovered he was far from feral. Dreamer
is a friendly, outgoing, affectionate guy who loves to be held
and get scratched. He will happily rub himself against you with
the glee of one who hasn't had enough of the attention he so
loves. Dreamer is FIV+ and should be an only kitty. To learn

Fiona is a
very pretty 2 year old, DMH, Calico who has had a very tough
life. We pulled Fiona from San Jose Animal Care and Control
in the early spring of 2006. We spayed her and found for her
what we had hoped was a loving forever home. This June Fiona
was returned with the comment that she was "feral" and she'd
spent the entire year after her adoption living outside and
running from her adopted family. Upon examining her we discovered
the horrible truth. We're not sure when it happened, but Fiona
had managed to push her front leg through her collar until it
lodged in her armpit and began to dig in and cause her a great
deal of pain. By the time we got her back the wound was old
and very infected from months of festering. Since June she's
been recovering in our hospital with loads of antibiotics and
loving care. She's begun to remember that people are not all
out to hurt her and we tell her every day how sorry we are that
we allowed her to be adopted by someone who cared so little
for her well being. We plan to ensure that her next home is
the "right" home and that she has a happily ever after. Can
you offer her that home? To learn more about Fiona click

Gomez is a
handsome, affectionate, outgoing and goofy all black, neutered

Grover is
a handsome DMH, FIV+, orange tabby boy with bright green eyes.
Grover came to us very, very ill with a mouth full of rotten
teeth, which we've since pulled. He's probably always going
to have some issues but we all can't help but love him and he's
more than ready to find his forever home. If you're looking
for a kitty who loves to be hugged and thrives on lap time,
Grover is most definitely your cat. To learn more about Grover

Joshua is a
handsome, 12+ year old, brown tabby boy. Joshua is pretty unhappy
in the shelter but he loves to have his chin scratched and will
happily lean into you for bum scratches. Joshua came to us on
3/9/08 from the Kern County Animal Shelter. Joshua loves to
wander about but here at the shelter he pees on everything so
he's stuck in a cage. We'd love if he could be adopted out to
a home where he could be indoor/outdoor, we think he wouldn't
have potty issues if he was an only cat with freedom to go in
and out. Joshua also love tuna! To learn more about Joshua click

Joshua is currently being sponsored by Dave and Laura Ficklin. |

Linguini is a very
sweet, if a little shy, orange tabby, DSH male. Born on 4/13/08, he
came to us on 4/25/08 from the Kern County Animal Shelter with his mom
Olive and his 5 beautiful litter mates (the pastas). Linguini seems
particularly attached to his brother Macaroni. To learn more about Linguini

Lucy is a very sweet
orange tabby and white, one eyed, spayed girl, (est. DOB 8/03). When
she was surrendered to the Martinez Animal Shelter, the owner said she
was bringing her in as she sometimes vomited after eating her food.
People often make up these type of excuses when surrendering their cats.
Lucy has not vomited since she came into the shelter after eating food
and has a good appetite. In fact Lucy weighs eleven pounds so she isn't
a small girl. She has a very slight heart murmur. Except for that she
appears to be in very good health. She came to us from the Martinez
shelter on 11/5/09. To learn more about Lucy click

Madison is a darling
torbie tabby and white tuxedo girl (Est. DOB 5/10/09). Playful, friendly
and sweet, Madison and her brothers are very social with other kitties
and would likely do best in a home with another cat. Our Presidential
siblings, all named after a former President, are not nearly as proper
as their names imply. Madison is FeLV+. To learn more about Madison

Magic is a wonderful
3.5 year old, neutered, grey and white tuxedo, tri-pod boy. Magic does
well with other cats, but he is a dominant alpha cat and an attention
hog. He would do best as only kitty or with one other mellow cat. Magic
came to us in August of 2006, from Martinez Animal Shelter where he
was being held in an animal cruelty case. Magic had been shot by a bee-bee
gun that shattered his front leg. We removed his leg when he arrived
at the Nine Lives Foundation and Magic's whole demeanor changed. He
was no longer in pain and the world was suddenly bright and beautiful.

Marty is a pretty, 2.5
year old neutered male. Marty was born in a feral colony and while he's
been around people for nearly his whole life, he still maintains the theory
that we're all out to get him. He would make a wonderful companion to
another kitty, but he will likely never be a kitty who will allow people
to pet or pick him up. To learn more about Marty click

Matthew is a handsome,
15+ year old, white and black, DLH, neutered boy. Matthew is pretty
scared in the shelter. While his buddy Josh loves to be picked up and
held, Matthew just wants a safe place to snuggle and call home. He loves
attention, but is really unsure about the world he's found himself in.
Matthew came to us on 1/8/09 from the Oakland Animal Shelter with his
buddy Josh after their owner died they'd been together for 10 years
and we'd really like to keep them together. To learn more about Matthew

Milagro is a stunningly
handsome, neutered, 8-10 year old, DSH, classic black and silver marbled
tabby boy. He came to us from Alameda Animal Services on 3/8/08 with
2 other kitties (Mia and Lola). Milagro had been hit by a car at some
point and his tail is paralyzed as a result of his accident. We're assessing
the damage and may remove his tail if the injury requires it. Milagro
loves to rub against any willing person and thrives on chin scratches
and being petted. He's really a very affectionate and outgoing boy.

Mister is a friendly,
handsome, outgoing, DSH, brown tabby, neutered male. Born around 3/2007,
Mister was rescued by a woman in the East Bay as a friendly stray. Sadly,
he tested FIV+ and she chose to find a rescue where he would be safe.
Mister spends his days hanging out in our play cage sunbathing and rubbing
against any human visitors who stop by. He's a really great cat, and
we think his FIV+ status is easy to overlook given his robust health
and awesome personality. To hear more about Mister click

Panther is a very handsome,
1.5 year old all black boy with single white patch on his breast. Panther
came to us from the Los Banos Animal Shelter on 1/8/08. Panther is pretty
shy around new people. He loves to have kitty buggies to hang out with
and he enjoys being stroked and petted, but he dislikes being picked
up and he quickly grows over whelmed when too much attention is paid
to him, he will run off if overwhelmed. To learn more about Panther

Pillsbury is a 2-3
year old, grey tabby, neuter, FIV+, DSH (est. DOB 3/07) male who came
to us from 10/28/09. Pillsbury was found living in a feral colony in
San Jose where he wandered up to the colony's care taker and rubbed
against her. He's a charming, cuddly, affectionate boy who really deserves
a home of his own. To learn more about Pillsbury click

Rebecca is a petite,
spayed, black and white, semi feral girl who has been with us since
she was six weeks old. Rebecca came to us from SJACC on 10/14/07 with
her siblings Rafe and Ramona. Even as a kitten Rebecca had no interest
in people. She's been in foster care a few times with little change.
Rebecca would do best in a home where she had little contact with people,
perhaps a barn. We don't know that she would know how to take care of
herself outside though, having been with us her whole life. A safe outdoor
enclosure might be best for her. To learn more about Rebecca click

Roscoe is a sweet and
gentle, 8 year old, neutered, black and white tuxedo, DLH, boy. Roscoe
came to us from the Fremont Animal shelter on 11/22/08. Roscoe is diabetic
and needs daily monitoring of his insulin levels. He loves attention
and will sit for hours with someone gently stroking his head and back.
If adopted, Roscoe would need to go to a home where he will be able
to get his daily insulin. Roscoe can be found at the Feline Well-Care
Clinic where he's a resident cat. To learn more about Roscoe click

Dan & Ann Duffy

Roxy is a 3 year old
(est. DOB 3/06), DSH, front paw declaw, spayed female. Roxy was adopted
out from us as a kitten and her first owners had her declawed at 3 months
old. Roxy had many issues afterward, fear and stress in her home. She
was returned and adopted out again to another home that kept her for
2.5 years. While they loved Roxy very much, they said she bites when
over stimulated or stressed out and with young children in the house
they thought a different home would be best for her. Roxy is a great
cat. She's really blossomed in the last few months and loves attention.
She's shown no signs of biting or being mouthy in months. We think,
in a home with no small children to pull on her tail or pester her,
that she'll be a wonderful companion. To learn more about Roxy click

the Los Banos Animal Shelter on 3/13/09 with his brother Simon. Diego

they were moving into an apartment. Simon is a sweet boy who is very
friendly. We're monitoring him for the beginnings of Thyroid disease.

Tandori is a very
thin, spayed, Flame Point Siamese mix girl who came to us on 5/9/08
from the Los Banos. Tandori is very friendly and loves to be petted
and cuddled in your lap. Tandori is much skinnier than her ideal, and
while she came to us that way, we think any home who takes her should
be aware that she'll need some TLC. We've removed her Thyroid and Tandori
is gaining weight and looking better everyday. We're not sure about
her age, she looks old but it may just may due to poor weight as her
teeth are in good condition. We're guessing she's anywhere from 12 to
15 years old. She's very friendly with people and tolerates other cats
but may do best as an only kitty. To hear more about Tandori click

Tex is a handsome,
all black, 6 year old, neutered male. Tex loves attention, but would
do best as an only kitty. He seems to get stressed out with more than
one other kitty around. Tex is a great, and very large, cat. He can
be mouthy and would do best in a home with no small children. If you're
looking for a kitty to hang out with you and loll around in the sun
or drape himself on your couch, Tex is most definitely your guy. Tex
came to us on 11/22/08 from the Fremont Animal Shelter. To hear more

Tuffy is a handsome,
6 year old (DOB: 4/02), neutered, DSH, orange tabby and white tuxedo,
FIV-/FeLV- boy. Tuffy came in to us in need of entropion surgery on
both eyes because his eyelids turned in and scratched his eyes. We've
since fixed that and this sweet boy is ready for a forever home of his
own. Tuffy loves to show his love and appreciation for any attention
you're willing to give him. He's a bit of a drooler, but with his sweet
nature, it's easy to over look a little drool. To learn more about Tuffy

Viggo was found as
a stray in Oakland and brought to us as a rescue. Viggo was covered
in mites and half starved when he was first found but just look at him
now! He's a darling boy with scarring on both of his eyes, but he sees
just fine. He is estimated to be approximately 4 years old (est DOB
4/05). Viggo is a lovely boy who slams his head into you for head butts
and rolls over for body rubs. He's a gentle giant, but can get mouthy
when over stimulated so he should go to a home without children. Viggo
is FIV+ so he should be an indoor only kitty. To hear more about Viggo

DLH, all white kitty who came to us as a feral. He's a bit better about

other kitties and be safely cared for. To hear more about Vincent click

Whiskers is a beautiful,
FIV+, spayed, 7 year old, DLH / Maine Coon mix, black and white Tuxedo.
Whiskers was originally adopted out of the Fremont Animal Shelter (FAS)
as an 8 week old kitten in April of 2002. We don't know what her life
was like after that but she ended up back at the FAS as a stray with
FIV and was due to be PTS. She's a very sweet girl who loves to hang
out in your lap and snuggle so the volunteers at FAS called and asked
us to take her. Whiskers needs a safe, permanent, indoor only home where
she can enjoy the love of a family of her own. Whiskers loves to be
held and cuddled. She's a solid girl who wraps her paws around your
neck and hugs you back. She drools a little when she's happy and has
been known to leave a wet spot on your shoulder after a long hug. We
think it and Whiskers herself, are absolutely precious. To learn more

black and white tuxedo girl. Zoe is an FIV+ tuxedo girl who came to
us from San Jose Animal Care and Control with her son Zima who has tested

and would be a great companion kitty for person or cat. Zoe purrs at
