Annie Oakley is a sweet, petite, FeLV+, DSH, spayed, brown tabby female (Est. DOB 5/08). Annie is a tiny but solid girl at 7lbs. She needs a quiet home with no stress so she can have a peaceful life.

BJ is a 5 year old (est. DOB 4/04), neutered, black and white male who came to us earlier this year from Martinez Animal Shelter with a broken jaw. "Broken Jaw" kitty, soon became simply BJ. Very mellow and laid back, this boy would be a great cat for someone looking for a buddy of a cat to hang out with. BJ loves chin scratches and sleeping in sun rays. He has become a bit withdrawn and stressed in the shelter and would really benefit from being adopted or getting out of the shelter into foster care. Won't you give this boy a loving forever home?

Brioche is a lovely 10 year old, de-clawed calico kitty who came to us early in 2006 from Martinez Animal Shelter. Brioche would love to be the companion for a Senior will dote on her and let her laze about in sunny window sills and on the couch curled up close. Children, dogs and other kitties easily overwhelm this girl so the life of leisure as an only kitty would be ideal for her. Brioche will do fine with one or two other kitties if she gets enough love from her people. Brioche should not go to a home with children under the age of 5 years of age as she can bite if over stimulated or picked up. Brioche doesn't like to be picked up at all. Brioche nearly starved to death, due to illness when she arrived, and appears to be making up for it now. She's overweight and really needs to go to a home whe someone will manage her weight and control her diet.

Fiona is a very pretty 2 year old, DMH, Calico who has had a very tough life. We pulled Fiona from San Jose Animal Care and Control in the early spring of 2006. We spayed her and found for her what we had hoped was a loving forever home. This June Fiona was returned with the comment that she was "feral" and she'd spent the entire year after her adoption living outside and running from her adopted family. Upon examining her we discovered the horrible truth. We're not sure when it happened, but Fiona had managed to push her front leg through her collar until it
lodged in her armpit and began to dig in and cause her a great deal of pain. By the time we got her back the wound was old and very infected from months of festering. Since June she's been recovering in our hospital with loads of antibiotics and loving care. She's begun to remember that people are not all out to hurt her and we tell her every day how sorry we are that we allowed her to be adopted by someone who cared so little
for her well being. We plan to ensure that her next home is the "right" home and that she has a happily ever after. Can you offer her that home? To learn more about Fiona click here to send an email to o to send an email to our volunteers. |

Garfield is an adorable orange tabby and white tuxedo boy (Est. DOB 5/10/09). Gilda is a beautiful, DSH, spayed, FIV+, black and white cow cat (est. DOB 10/15/06). She came to us on 1/12/10 from the Fremont Animal Shelter after she tested FIV+. She is a very sweet, gentle girl, if a little slow to warm up to new people. We're told that she used to go right on your lap for pets but has withdrawn a tad from being so long in a cage. We think she'll warm up again in no time if someone can get her used to them and get her to spend some one on one time.

Joshua is a handsome, 12+ year old, brown tabby boy. Joshua is pretty unhappy in the shelter but he loves to have his chin scratched and will happily lean into you for bum scratches. Joshua came to us on 3/9/08 from the Kern County Animal
Shelter. Joshua loves to wander about but here at the shelter he pees on everything so he's stuck in a cage. We'd love if he could be adopted out to a home where he could be indoor/outdoor, we think he wouldn't have
potty issues if he was an only cat with freedom to go in and out. Joshua also love tuna! To learn more about Joshua click

She loves to play and likes to have other kitties to play with. She would dearly love to have a feline companion to keep her entertained while her person works to pay for her kibble. She is such a sweet little girl that she will even submit to a bath with very little objection. When she is wrapped up in a towel after the bath and snuggled Kahlua is in kitty heaven. She will happily lie in your arms purring away long after she is dry. Lucy is a very sweet orange tabby and white, one eyed, spayed girl, (est. DOB 8/03). When she was surrendered to the Martinez Animal Shelter, the owner said she was bringing her in as she sometimes vomited after eating her food. People often make up these type of excuses when surrendering their cats. Lucy has not vomited since she came into the shelter after eating food and has a good appetite. In fact Lucy weighs eleven pounds so she isn't
a small girl. She has a very slight heart murmur. Except for that she appears to be in very good health. She came to us from the Martinez shelter on 11/5/09. To learn more about Lucy click here to send an email to an email to our volunteers.

Marty is a pretty, 2.5
year old neutered male. Marty was born in a feral colony and while he's

to pet or pick him up. To learn more about Marty click

Rebecca is a petite, spayed, black and white, semi feral girl who has been with us since she was six weeks old. Rebecca came to us from SJACC on 10/14/07 with her siblings Rafe and Ramona. Even as a kitten Rebecca had no interest in people. She's been in foster care a few times with little change. Rebecca would do best in a home where she had little contact with people, perhaps a barn. We don't know that she would know how to take care of herself outside though, having been with us her whole life. A safe outdoor enclosure might be best for her. To learn more about Rebecca click here to send an email to our volunteers. Rebecca is being sponsored by Asa Mills in Memory of Scooter.

Roxy is a 3 year old (est. DOB 3/06), DSH, front paw declaw, spayed female. Roxy was adopted out from us as a kitten and her first owners had her declawed at 3 months old. Roxy had many issues afterward, fear and stress in her home. She was returned and adopted out again to another home that kept her for 2.5 years. While they loved Roxy very much, they said she bites when over stimulated or stressed out and with young children in the house
they thought a different home would be best for her. Roxy is a great cat. She's really blossomed in the last few months and loves attention. She's shown no signs of biting or being mouthy in months. We think, in a home with no small children to pull on her tail or pester her, that she'll be a wonderful companion. To learn more about Roxy click

| Viggo was found as a stray in Oakland and brought to us as a rescue. Viggo was covered in mites and half starved when he was first found but just look at him now! He's a darling boy with scarring on both of his eyes, but he sees just fine. He is estimated to be approximately 4 years old (est DOB 4/05). Viggo is a lovely boy who slams his head into you for head butts and rolls over
for body rubs. He's a gentle giant, but can get mouthy when over stimulated so he should go to a home without children. Viggo is FIV+ so he should be an indoor only kitty. To hear more about Viggo click

Whiskers is a beautiful, FIV+, spayed, 7 year old, DLH / Maine Coon mix, black and white Tuxedo. Whiskers was originally adopted out of the Fremont Animal Shelter (FAS)
as an 8 week old kitten in April of 2002. We don't know what her life was like after that but she ended up back at the FAS as a stray with FIV and was due to be PTS. She's a very sweet girl who loves to hang out in
your lap and snuggle so the volunteers at FAS called and asked us to take her. Whiskers needs a safe, permanent, indoor only home where she can enjoy the love of a family of her own. Whiskers loves to be held and cuddled.
She's a solid girl who wraps her paws around your neck and hugs you back. She drools a little when she's happy and has been known to leave a wet spot on your shoulder after a long hug. We think it and Whiskers herself,
are absolutely precious. To learn more about Whiskers click here to send an email to an email to our volunteers. |
