Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Julie Desai, DVM
Dr. Desai graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She has worked in a variety of local practices including small animal, equine, and shelter medicine and surgery.
Dr. Desai is dedicated to helping improve the health and welfare of feral and non-feral cat populations in our community. She enjoys gardening, hiking, travel and spending time with her family.
Dr. Christine Tang, DVM
Dr. Tang graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She enjoys spending time outdoors and aspires to learn how to juggle.
Dr. Tang is dedicated to animal welfare, helping our animal companions, and our community. She considers herself fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a wonderful staff and learn from her patients and clients every day at Nine Lives Foundation.
Dr. Barbie Laderman-Jones, DVM
After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Jones completed a 3-year residency in shelter medicine at UC Davis. She is board-certified in Shelter Medicine Practice and has worked primarily in the nonprofit sector.
Dr. Jones serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, swimming, dancing, and travel.
Dr. Frances Mueller, DVM, MS
Dr. Mueller decided to be a veterinarian at 8 years old - she loved animals and wanted to help protect them. After graduating from UC Davis, she worked
at small animal hospitals in the Bay Area.
Recently she has done relief/contract work, including several years for the Humane Society of Silicon Valley. Her family includes her husband, 3 children, 4 cats (including 2 "pandemic kittens"), one rabbit, and one ginormous dog!
